It could've been better
After reading the reviews for this hotel, I didn't even want to go on vacation. However after the 2 hour bus ride to the hotel, I was pleasantly surprised. It was an open air lobby with ocean views. The staff were friendly and got us checked in quickly and smoothly. We were in the south tower, on the 9th floor. Our room had a modern king size bed, a desk, a flat screen, and a lounge. Our balcony was private with a table and 2 chairs. We had a nice view of the cove & ocean. Although the bathroom had an updated granite sink, you could tell they didn't replace the tub because it was worn. It appeared that the ceiling had leaked in a few spots over time, but not while we were there. The A/C worked fine. It wasn't freezing but it wasn't hot. The pools were awesome and there was always a spot to be alone, even though it was a huge resort. They played music by the volleyball pool everyday. Only 1 slide was open during our stay, they said because it wasn't busy enough. It was nice, we could find a beach chair wherever we wanted to sit, always.
Some people bug you on the beach for tours, hair braiding, and drugs. We politely declined numerous times then decided to hang out a little further down the beach to avoid them. The beach had these cool circle shaped flotation devices that you could lay on in the water. We never had a problem getting clean beach towels or them running out of cups to serve us drinks. The drinks used bottom shelf liqueur, but what can you expect. They had a specialty drink everyday, so that was fun to try. The cups in Jamacia are small, so we would always get a couple drinks at a time. Staff was very kind and always checked to see if you were ok.
